Urban Image has done recent work on a number of different types of projects. Recent projects include the installation of all interior architectural sign displays for Microsoft’s new 160,000 sq. ft. B.C. Development Centre in Richmond. Timelines were extremely tight and demanding on this project as signage installations took place immediately after trade contractors completed each phase of the project.
Another recent project of size was the signage redevelopment of the Tsawwassen Shopping Centre for its owner, Rural Stores Ltd. This project included the design / build function of providing custom signage displays for over 30 tenants including several nationally branded clients such as Home Hardware and Bank of Montreal.
This project also involved the design / build of a new centerpiece for the shopping centre, which was a freestanding sign complete with a 16mm, high resolution, LED video display board. The challenge was that the design had to be centered on the architectural features of the newly renovated centre, and satisfy all stakeholder’s needs as well as to be appealing to the governing Municipal body who had to approve the project through a Development Variance Permit process. The video display board also was restricted to an overall size of approx. 4’ x 10’ yet had to have all the technological features of a much larger board to provide the high resolution required for the national tenant’s advertising campaigns. This project had an overall signage budget of approx. $500,000.00 and includes long term service contracts for the numerous displays

Our most recent completed project is a large rebranding of the parking facilities at Canada Place for VINCI Park and Canada Place Corporation. This project involves the creation and installation of over 300 radius alucobond forms to transform the structural steel columns in the parkade, over 100 overhead wayfinding signs as well as a 10’ x 50’ marquee sign located over the main entrance to the parkade which also houses a large LED digital display screen.
